The Last Summer of Us is a hand drawn spread for a local magazine. The song was written by high school students and the illustrations are meant to evoke a sense of nostalgia for seniors who are graduating. Animals were used to avoid drawing specific people in order to make every student feel represented. It was a great practice for me through trying to illustrate in both a 3D realistic style for the stationery elements as well as a 2D cartoon style for the journal page’s content.
